Veterinary health care costs are a concern for many pet owners. The complex nature of some health conditions can make it impossible for us to fully know what care is needed, how long it will take, and how much it will cost before we begin testing and treatments. When a pet is admitted to VSS, we prepare a low- and high-end estimate for the cost of our services. While this estimate is based on a pet's health status upon admittance, it also allows for potential changes/problems that may develop during the pet's stay with us. Our VSS staff presents this estimate to pet owners.

Our fees are similar to fees charged by specialty hospitals providing advanced medical care. In most situations, a deposit that equals 50 percent of the high-end estimate is required at the time of admission; the remaining balance is due in full upon discharge of the pet. Pet owners who have questions or concerns about their pet's health care costs should discuss them with us before treatment begins.
