Dr. Rebecca Saunders grew up in Chicago and attended Washington University in St. Louis for her undergraduate degree. She then went on to attend veterinary school at the University of Missouri. She completed her small animal medical and surgical rotating internship at The Ohio State University and was then accepted into a cardiology residency at Purdue University. After completion of her residency in 2018, she knew she wanted to return to the St. Louis area, remembering how fond she was of the city during her undergraduate years. She is so glad to have joined such a wonderful veterinary team at VSS. In regards to her practice of cardiology, she is particularly passionate about the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart disease as well as chronic management of canine and feline heart failure patients long-term.
